evidence left at the scene of the crime

the embers flurry in the air

a moment only i have shared

your picture cupped within my hand

the beach is me and empty sand

like me your soul was lost and bound

no words to speak amid the sound

that was the length of our embrace

korea had imbued your face

with all the beauty i caressed

they say you’re saved when you confess

but my chest bore a pentagram

and yours the wealth of both my hands

as for three days your naked form

became the dance that i performed

i barely knew the landscape’s view

as all my time was spent with you

and home is such a lonely word

goodbyes unspoken and unheard

for you to yours and me to mine

but i did not make a straight line

but thought to take an extra day

amid the wealth of ocean spray

no room to rent no food to dine

just firewood of hardened pine

and pictures from our second night

your naked body did alight

upon a vegas hotel bed

where you had just given me head

and to depart we knew we must

but i feel it was more than lust

that we were looking to fulfill

but lost souls only know to till

the moment they are lost within

the rest have named as mortal sin

for you’ve a man and i a wife

and vegas but three days and nights

that was just meant to get away

but in our arms we both did stray

the moment that we found our link

where people gather for a drink

on our first night i said your name

as passion burned us like a flame

upon that vegas hotel bed

our only outing was to tread

unto that wiccan candle store

where the high priestess we adored

as we went to the inner room

and she pronounced us bride and groom

among some ancient goddess rite

then back to spend our wedding night

upon that vegas hotel bed

where we both left our souls for dead

and now beside the fires glow

i burn your picture as i know

that i will never love again

the way i loved our mortal sin
