i was sick again
too many evenings of coffee
to get myself up for a workout
then dehydrated i hit the beer
last time i drank it was 12
pints
and three shots of whiskey
i was so sick for 3 days
that at one point i shivered so
bad
i had to fill the tub with hot
water
and get in to stop shaking
guess i should stop lifting
weights
haven’t drank in days
tonight i’m at a bar
quiet and sipping
by the second beer i hit a buzz
and whispered,
“i’m back”
when i wake tomorrow evening
i’ll lift weights and get back
into my workout
routine
yeah, that’s what i’m gonna do
if i feel well enough to do it
right now all i can think about
is how much fun i have had
in the various places in l. a.
i have visited
and i want to go back
and have that fun again
