i spent the early part of this
evening with a film i rented:
the wall by julian polsler
it did not abandon our utter
state of abandonment
but transcended uncle darwin’s
random mutations
that are hard pressed by environmental
variations
and passed down through
generations
an existence without
teleological timepieces
trying to find meaning beyond
the act of survival
by considering the matters of
the human heart
we are not just a random imperfection;
genes culled by externalities
we can improve upon
we can hope
we can love
our actions more than providing
order among chaos
asylum can be purpose
i watched realizing i know
nothing about art
now i walk around at midnight
i want a drink
but i just can’t
i smoke in an agitated state
that there is something i need
to find
something i need to understand
something that eludes me
it is not hope or meaning
it is love
we are not just random
molecules
we are not just biological
components
we are defined by our ability
