pâté
if for a
pumpkin then a pie
the ancient
poets often lied
when saying
fairest of them all
was who with
whom they were enthralled
but any
coast on any sea
from origins
of all poetry
have never
seen the way you look
which makes
me fill this very book
a beauty
fair, beyond compare
with any
woman any where
at any time
or century
your beauty
and my poetry
would make
the poets all re-write
confessing
that they’ve seen the light
if beauty
were a banquet feast
all else have
dined on what is least
