demands devotion

and will punish

any distraction

prostrate before the throne

i lick the fungus

under the toenails

of my god

 

any artist

no matter what the art

will tell you the same

if they do not

they are not an artist

 

all gods are petty

requiring the singular satisfaction

of all your needs

is to be satisfied

by them

 

but like i said

gods are petty

and your devotion does not

satisfy their need

so they seek further amusement

by requiring further supplication

 

poetry is mental masturbation

and those of us who

enjoy that kind of orgasm

rub ourselves raw

appeasing the demands of our god

because we express our devotion

to the fucking bitch

who is the god of poetry
