ache

the ache i feel is oh so real

within the kiss i want to steal

and now that all has been revealed

about the way you make me feel

my sighs increase and are non-stop

till you consume my every thought

and all that i would long to do

if i could be alone with you

we’d know that breath of heaven’s sigh

upon the day of open skies

          *

within the flame

you inspire my desire to dance within your beauty

just one kiss could cause the fire to burn eternally

within my form a firestorm consumes with hungry flames

that’s burning with a raging need which cannot be contained

the sun and stars both near and far could never burn as hot

as i do when i think of you till my whole being is fraught

with images of both my hands traversing your soft flesh

as heat consumes the oxygen till we are out of breath

thoughts after a hug

the starry skies before my eyes the moonlight all aglow

i’m kissing in-between the sighs the lips i’ve long to know

my hands traverse your supple form that i have ached to touch

the poetry that i perform is telling you how much

i long to linger in your arms until the starlight fades

and dance within your subtle charms at midday in the shade

and every moment where i’ve dreamt awake or when asleep

about a moment that is spent within a kiss so sweet

where all i do is think of you and what we do alone

incited by your beauty and such moments still unknown

proclamation

the sunny skies would never try to write a poem for you

for sunshine isn’t qualified to know your perfect hue

cause everything that everyone has deemed as beautiful

needs different definitions because they’re delusional

cause beauty only can consist of everything you are

a truth that no one can refute no matter where the star

is hanging in our universe supporting other beings

cause nothing that has ever been has ever truly seen

exquisiteness and loveliness as it exists with you

and i’ll proclaim the sum of this in everything i do

          *

the entire first season

intense as an apocalypse you lock your lips to mine

my hands invade your hair’s dark shade and pull you close in kind

abandoned to the ecstasy in paradise reclaimed

a love that’s in assembly like whirlwinds untamed

collision kiss has caused the stars to dance before my eyes

erasing all the memories i thought were lullabies

before your kiss there was no bliss born of such desire

the kings and queens would abdicate to serve in this empire

where every field produces yield to saturate the heart

and i am lost and tempest tossed as our lips come apart

but as i see the beauty bound exclusively to you

my lips traverse to cover ground igniting flames anew

after a brief intermission a second act will be performed

taking time for taco tuesday until you texted me
you had gotten off work early and wanted company
i quickly made my way to you and knocked upon your door
where i became the raging sea that’s crashing on the shore
for when you opened up the door so you could let me in
you were wearing nothing but the moonlight on your skin

i swept you up into my arms and took you to the sheets
the fabric of my clothes dissolved by burning in the heat
lips on fire hands aspired to actuate foreplay
but these became one and the same of something in the way
and like a person drowning in the violence of a storm
in the ocean a frenzied motion was all that i performed

if i wrote you a love song

if i wrote you a love song would you listen to my words
the syllables that come on strong and are not just inferred
the way i feel would be revealed in lyric layered lines
mixing in the merriment if you would just be mine

words unmasked that i would task to tell a tale of love
the suppleness that you possess which i am dreaming of
my heart repatriated to the beauty of your eyes
a romance scribe i would describe their color in reprise

yes, if i wrote while watching you would words mean anything
would you hear the melody in the song in which i sing
the heart that pounds within the sound of every word i write
the ending rhyme would pantomime my arms holding you tight

every time

every time i’m writing rhymes i’m thinking about you

the sky and earth witnessed your birth and knew that it was true

that paradise had finally come unto this earthen sod

and when we met your beauty left me in a state of awe

and so i paint the canvas of the paper with my pen

with portraits of your beauty in the hopes that i may win

the moment of the miracle of your lips pressed to mine

a moment that’s so lyrical it equals the divine

for there is none more beautiful than you and you alone

your image stays within my heart and dances on my phone

till every breath which i have left now sighs within the thought

of all the beauty you possess and is so aptly sought

yearning

the words that wrap around my heart

are words i wish now to impart

about the beauty you possess

that leaves me longing with distress

until all i can think about

is how i wish i could act out

my desire to inspire

your surrender i require

where we would be lost in a kiss

my hands upon your suppleness

passion building to crescendo

no longer can we take it slow

and all this yearning i have had

this longing that will drive one mad

becomes euphoric in release

where our embrace will never cease

kiss

the kiss of longing lingers near

with poems i whisper in your ear

my hand upon your supple breast

folds the fabric of your dress

my kiss conforms unto your cheek

but still your lips are what i seek

and bring my hand up to your chin

and guide you until you’re within

the place where our lips can align

for all night long i have designed

the moment when i steal a kiss

that moment now has come to this

a gentle kiss becomes our first

but in the aching of my thirst

i slide my hand behind your head

applying pressure till you’re lead

into a passion in release

as if this kiss will never cease

my tongue invades without protest

my hand returns onto your breast

our kiss consumes the universe

and is reborn within this verse

cleansing fire of desire

nothing else could quite inspire

the poetry that i now brew

about this kiss i share with you

though it’s leading to more than this

nothing will be quite like your kiss

splendor

lasting lyrics linger like a late night lullaby

i’m wrapped around your finger as i’m drowning in your eyes

the honey bees all envy me in this twilight hour

in the garden of delights i’ve found the sweetest flower

i taste the nectar of your lips my soul in somersaults

your suppleness wherein i’m gripped is flawless to a fault

i stage the play of two in love without a set design

the scenery is made complete in knowing you are mine

wild waves washing over me dashing with desire

efface the shore until its core is rendered wet with fire

i write the scene that’s in-between the first and second act

when your beauty comes to convene i can only react

the matchstick girl

(i wrote this 1 18 2008, but as Christmas approaches and I daily see the commercial side of the holidays I've been thinking about this poem)

the matchstick girl has made her way into my new year’s heart

her hunger fed, a warm soft bed is heaven’s holy art

as in heaven so on earth is what our savior prayed

but we forget the charity after our bed is made

the devil roams about the earth with hatred in his heart

a hellscape lined with matchstick girls outside the shopping marts

there is no need for words like these to tell you what you know

you claim your God on earthen sod but do your actions show

that who you say your master is is who you really serve

the matchstick girl will testify to all she has observed

now some give none while some give all even if works don’t save

but true confession of your faith is in how you behave

so let her shiver in the cold with hunger in her eyes

each time you give her a wide berth the devil’s not surprised

a fireplace, his saving grace and still we ask for more

no, not to share or show we care about those who are poor

cause i am never rich enough to lend a helping hand

even though my priorities should be as he commands

so as in hell is now on earth because all we want is more

another matchstick girl has died outside your favorite store

enamored

(you signed your name on my heart

saying you were here – olly murs)

i only dream within the seam sewn in your fabric

and everything that’s in-between never turns out tragic

hello, goodbye, goodbye, hello, watching love come and go

exacting rhymes that come in times when love will take its toll

“your footprint that was in the snow

the last time that i watched you go

had melted with the morning sun

mocking what we had become

a memory that’s lost with time

now memorized within a rhyme

priority was something else

like dusty books upon a shelf

that lingers in the read before

as words that can say nothing more

to inspire any fire

in the wasteland of desire”

but then again you enter in and love becomes the prize

the heart begins to trust again, the stomach butterflies

as beauty touches everything and sunshine resonates

the love abounds in a surround and only escalates

roses in the garden bower can bloom in winter time

in the power of the hour when we are spinning rhymes

touching all the things that love inspires us to feel

and in the labor of the love the payment is revealed

affluence and prosperity all measured in your kiss

intertwined with all your beauty there’s nothing more than this

making the most of moonlight

boardwalk walking, ocean stalking warmth of your hand in mine

carnival lights seam the sea shore, threads perfectly aligned

grains of sea salt on your lips, rims of margarita glass

i sip the intoxication and let the laughter pass

the game booths abound and surround, show love by how you win

we’re walking and talking oblivious to all that spins

the stars alight like polka dots across the western sky

i buy you a forget me not and kiss you with a sigh

we walk down the to surging sea that saturates the shore

away from all the dancing lights where darkness is décor

our kiss is wetter than the waves that die around our feet

our bodies dent the supple sand that we employ as sheets

lyrical like you

the words and rhymes within a poem are often hard to find

but every time i think of you i find the perfect line

beauty makes ingenuity freefall, flow and form

vision of you ignites, imbues like lightning in a storm

you take my breath but still i breathe the words you inspire

the splendor of your loveliness is all that’s required

to make me want to paint with words all the magnificence

that’s cultivated in your curves and dancing on your lips

which i relate and recreate with every poem i write

to give the due to all of you that causes such delight

foraging for forgetfulness

“there was nothing in the world that i ever wanted more

then to feel you deep in my heart” –smith

smithsonian solitude

in an unopened exhibit

body broken, not exquisite

like a window without a view

home to my bones, wall of your arms

in corners of complacency

long dark back alley vacancy

echoing with silent alarms

my memory making moments

into more then what they ever were

perception is what we prefer

not the crosses of atonement

we carry weight, but it’s not fate

just ping pong atoms colliding

we seek fetal for the hiding

the knife slice of life feels like hate

strong to belong with want of crawl

will you cringe with tears on your lap

can i put a pin on love’s map?

that with you i won’t feel so small

that in the parade of bad days

i am not looking for changes

there’s no safety on open ranges

nothing that can make it go away

but before i return to the fray

can i be strengthened by your comfort?

          *

rising from the realm of dreams

i came across some poems for you

of forest green and ocean blue

you were the weather in my storm

my love for you was not performed

except in dreams to an extreme

i wake up with remorseful screams

that this sweet dream ended abrupt

the only place i’ve known your touch

if dreams are all i have of you

then let me dream my whole life through

cause and effect

with pen and ink i often think about your suppleness

my poems are always on the brink with longing for your kiss

the ecstasy which comes to me when thinking about you

would fill up every ocean underneath a sky of blue

wherein the streams of gentle dreams flow like tributaries

your beauty warms the frozen heart till all it can carry

is the rapture replenishing the streams which fill the sea

which cannot hold and overflows covering everything

wherein i drown in the abounding beauty you possess

the tempest waves of all i crave are all i can express

you inspire such desire by simply being you

more beautiful than anything the human eye can view

radiant

sunshine seeking solace on the softness of your skin

its rays can splay the universe but every place it’s been

can’t compare with all you are with beauty ravishing

cause even with an endless reach there’s nothing that it’s seen

that captivates or recreates the art of your allure

its tentacles caress your curves and rest in your contours

and i can only offer words and shadows filled with sighs

wishing i could have the girth of sunlight in the sky

so i too could envelope you with warmth of a caress

and let my words illuminate all of your loveliness

and join the sunshine on your lips with warmth of a soft kiss

the brightness of your beauty blinding me with such sweet bliss

unleashed

rough and tumble, bed frame rumbles

across sheeted plains we stumble

beauty untamed ignites a flame

you’re screaming out his holy name

so roughly raked your thumbnail breaks

our furnace kiss could bake a cake

bed sheet abandons slotted sides

from our violence it now hides

upon the floor its fabric sore

from the waging of our war

that glistens skin, breaks the frame

the walls dissolve at our proclaim

collapsing casual and calm

but still i hold you in my arms

prepared to die amid the sigh

and recompense of satisfied

and in my lingering caress

i will whisper and confess

of how i only think of you

captivated and imbued

with dreams of just another kiss

the world could end amid such bliss
