enamored

(you signed your name on my heart

saying you were here – olly murs)

i only dream within the seam sewn in your fabric

and everything that’s in-between never turns out tragic

hello, goodbye, goodbye, hello, watching love come and go

exacting rhymes that come in times when love will take its toll

“your footprint that was in the snow

the last time that i watched you go

had melted with the morning sun

mocking what we had become

a memory that’s lost with time

now memorized within a rhyme

priority was something else

like dusty books upon a shelf

that lingers in the read before

as words that can say nothing more

to inspire any fire

in the wasteland of desire”

but then again you enter in and love becomes the prize

the heart begins to trust again, the stomach butterflies

as beauty touches everything and sunshine resonates

the love abounds in a surround and only escalates

roses in the garden bower can bloom in winter time

in the power of the hour when we are spinning rhymes

touching all the things that love inspires us to feel

and in the labor of the love the payment is revealed

affluence and prosperity all measured in your kiss

intertwined with all your beauty there’s nothing more than this
